At DetoxScreen, we take your privacy very seriously. This policy describes what information the app accesses, how it is used, and what control you have over it.

1. Information We Access

DetoxScreen accesses and stores the following data locally on your device:

Routine Data

We store your digital detox routines including name, schedule (start/end time), active days, and which apps or categories you choose to restrict. This data is used to apply and manage your screen time restrictions.

Screen Time & App Selection

DetoxScreen uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls framework) to let you select which apps to restrict. The app receives opaque tokens representing your selected apps — it cannot see the names, identifiers, or any details of your installed apps. These tokens are stored locally to apply restrictions during your scheduled routines.

Compliance & Streak Data

We store records of whether your routines were completed successfully, including compliance status and streak information. This data is used to display your statistics and motivate consistent habits.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

DetoxScreen does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

We do not know which apps you have installed or which apps you restrict
We do not track your app usage or screen time duration
We do not send any data to external servers
We do not use analytics or tracking services
We do not collect device identifiers
We do not use advertising or ad networks
We do not share data with third parties

3. Screen Time API (FamilyControls)

DetoxScreen uses Apple's FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings frameworks to provide app restriction functionality. Important details:

You must explicitly authorize Screen Time access during onboarding
App selection uses Apple's standard picker — we only receive opaque tokens, never app names or bundle IDs
Restrictions are applied and removed automatically based on your schedules
You can revoke Screen Time authorization at any time from iOS Settings

4. Local Processing

All data processing is performed exclusively on your device. DetoxScreen has no backend server. Your routine data, compliance records, and app selections never leave your iPhone.

5. Data Storage

DetoxScreen uses SwiftData (on-device database) stored in an App Group container shared between the app and its extensions. The app also uses UserDefaults for preferences such as:

Onboarding state
Subscription status
Widget configuration

All data is deleted when you uninstall the app.

6. In-App Purchases

Subscriptions are handled through Apple StoreKit. We do not have access to your payment information. Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for more information.

7. Permissions

DetoxScreen may request the following permissions, which you can revoke at any time from iOS Settings:

Screen Time (FamilyControls): required to select apps and apply restrictions during your routines
Notifications: optional, used to remind you about upcoming routines

8. Widgets

DetoxScreen offers Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that display your active routine, next scheduled routine, and current streak. Widgets read data from the shared on-device database and do not transmit any information externally.

9. Security

Since no data is transmitted outside your device, the risk of data leakage is minimal. All information remains protected by iOS security measures (device encryption, sandboxing, App Group isolation, etc.).

10. Children's Privacy

DetoxScreen is designed for individual adult users managing their own screen time. It is not intended for children under 13 and is not a parental control tool. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
